When to raise and when to just call is an important part of the game. Raising is usually done in one of three situations. When the player has the best hand, when the draw has a number of winning possibilities like a flush draw or a full house draw and when the player is running a bluff. Players that keep this in mind are likely to make many winning bets and take down pots with less than the best hand. Players that are holding the possible nuts in a flush should raise when two suited cards are part of the first three to the flop. This may make other players fold or at least check on the next bet. If the flush is made, the pot is probably yours for the taking assuming there is no possible full house lurking for the river card to make. By playing the percentages the aggressive player can make the other players flinch and throw away their hand.

Reraise when you have the nuts and playing against an aggressive player. Reraise when you have a number of outs in the upcoming deal to the flop. Reraise when carrying out a bluff. Players that do not raise when given the hand to do so are walking by a lot of money that should be in the pot. Missing out on oversized pots is a huge mistake. Slow playing a raising hand is deadly in a limit game. It can work to your advantage in a NL game. Check raising is a favorite play by many poker players. Part of poker is deception and bluffing and those that do not have the heart to make the third or fourth bet are destined to never be a good bluffer.
Players that have that kind of heart are hard to beat as they would bet a winning hand exactly the same. This makes for a game that is like a cat and mouse game. Players that like to play NL are likely to like the ability to protect their hands by making significant bets at critical times. It is hard to call a big bet for an inside straight draw or even a one card flush draw. Some players are automatic calling stations except when playing NL. It is not hard to make a big bet, but it is much harder to call big bets. This is why aggression is paid off in NL play.

When playing Holdem or Omaha Hi Low the player that is patient about the hands they play is way ahead of the game. In Holdem a high pair or Ace King is a powerful starting hand and could well take down the pot. By waiting to play this kind of hand, the poker player puts the odds in their favor and hopes that the hand holds up or is improved. In Omaha Hi Low, the best starting hand is Ace deuce, Ace, King with one of the cards other than the Ace matching the Ace suit. This hand gives the player a chance for high or low. Waiting patiently for this starting hand is what good players do for long periods in cash games. Of course you can get lucky with any starting hand, the odds favor the player that waits and plays these starting hands.

Folding hand after hand also sets up a great bluff as the other players will assume if you call that you have a good starting hand. In either case, the player that plays this way is hard to beat as they rarely get out of line with a marginal hand. Conservative players will not get the action that action players get, but they will win more hands by playing conservatively. A raise by this type of player should be given credit for a good hand. They may be bluffing, but the call at this juncture is a risky call for most situations. the waiting game can get tedious for a poker player that craves action. This can be offset by playing suited connectors every now and then just to change the patient player image. Changing the style of play is the mark of a good player and will catch the other players off guard if the hand is a winner. Many big pots are won this way all of the time in poker games. High pairs or trips are not always the winner for any winning player that plays well. Playing the other player is an art form that good poker players master early and use with calculated effectiveness in a cash game. Winning a big pot with three threes is a heart pounding event at any poker table. Not all hands are equal, but a winning hand can be a lowly pair of deuces in the correct situation. Play the player sometimes and see if your reads on them are valid. In the long run this is a profitable way to play poker.

In Holdem, a pair of pocket aces are a strong but beatable hand to play. There are two ways to play this hand, A player can slow play it and hope to build a pot or they can come right out and bet the hand or raise. Slow playing aces is nerve racking as they can be easily outdrawn and then beaten. Players that do this will in the long run get more money out of the quality hand, but the player must be ready to get beaten. If someone goes all in before you, then you have an automatic call as you probably have his big pair beat. If the table is full and you have 4 or 5 callers, you must raise or be very careful with raises as the aces can be beat with that many callers. There are just to many possibilities against your aces with this many callers.

If you are the last to call with aces, the time to raise is upon you at this time in the game. A raise may push some players out of the hand and that is what you want as aces are best against few hands. Middle table position has to be a raise or slow play and hope the aces will hold up. The aces are strong but they can be outdrawn by one or more players. Betting them strong before the flop is the easiest way to play them and usually forces out weak drawing hands. Other players with pairs have the worst of it against aces.

If the flop gives you set, slow play the hand and hope someone else makes a hand. You will kill two pair or a set. The player with that hand is going to call you in most instances. Slow playing aces will get bigger pots, but the aces can be outdrawn if this is done. This is a feeling situation and not a math situation. Building pots when holding a quality hand is the secret to making money playing poker. Not doing this is going to cost the aces player a lot of money over time.

Players with a big pair against aces are trapped into playing a hand they wish they could get away from as they are at the mercy of the flop.

Slot players in the know play certain slot games for reasons other than they like the game.
They are sure to like the game, but the better reasons are the games payout often, the games
are interesting to play like some video poker games and games placed in certain parts of the
casino are better choices than others, even if the games are identical. The payouts will be
set at different levels within the state laws on slots. Slots that are near exits, restrooms and
places to eat are usually the lower payout machines in the live casino. Slots in the far corner
of a row of slots will be better choices. Video poker machines and classic three reelers
payout more often than the big progressive slots. Of course the payout total can be much
bigger on the progressive.

Small jackpot slots will payout more frequently than a big progressive, but the progressive will
payout bigger dollar totals in each payoff. Players would be wise to give the progressives a
few spins that then move to a different level of slot play. A long session at a cold progressive
can get expensive. Trying for the big win is part of gaming, but wasting a great deal of money
trying for the big win is not a smart idea. When playing slots move around from slot games
that are cold and find one that seems to be looser than the others. Play for a set time and a
set level of loses and do not violate either when the limit is reached. If the limits are not set
before hand, the player will have a tendency to keep trying one more spin and this gets to be
very expensive on cold machines. Stetting limits is the first rule of any good gambler, as they
know there will be times that the luck is not with them. This keeps losses under some
control.

If a player can fund several accounts, then here is an idea that may make the bingo player
some easy money without a lot of stress. Assuming you can play the UK bingo sites, then
find the sites that allow pre-buying of games. Pick several of them and fund the accounts.
Then stay on top of the list of games which can have the tickets bought early and buy in. In
this way the player can be doing other things and still have a chance to win the game. If you
do this you can take a series of small risks and maybe collect on nice jackpot from one of the
sites you are playing on. The odds are better than the lottery and the cost per game is
minimal. Lets say that you fund four accounts with £50 each. That is a stake of £200 for this
low risk gamble. With that amount of money in each account, the player should be able to
play many games for at least several weeks and if the luck is with the player, one of the
accounts will catch lightening in a bottle and win a game or two.

This risk reward ratio is excellent when compared with keno or any state run lottery. It would
only take one win of a few hundred pounds to make this arrangement very profitable. A
player can try this idea on two sites or more that allow pre-purchase of game tickets before
the game is run. Play the better sites that have larger jackpots to give the idea a chance to
pay off. The only other requirement is for the site to have good games and that can have the
tickets bought early. A player could even more from site to site and play free games or penny
games, if the schedules do not overlap.

The idea is to take several chances at the same time and hope that one of them wins. If they
all lose, then that is the risk of gaming. If one hits then it could cover all bets and make a
profit depending on the games played and the prize money. Study this idea and see if it is
feasible for your gaming risk or gambling stake. Try it on small bets at first and then move up
to the more expensive games to play. The UK bingo sites are the ones that should be used if
they are in play for the player considering this idea.

Omaha Hi has a much bigger following in the UK and Europe than it has in the US. Part of
the reason for this is the game is played with nine cards unlike Holdem that uses seven cards
to get the five card final hand. There are important differences between Holdem and Omaha
other than the cards per player hand. Each players gets four cards in Omaha and only two in
Holdem. The five card flop is the same in both games. A player in Holdem does not have to
use any cards out of the cards they are dealt, they can play the flop alone if it is a better hand.
In Omaha the player must play two cards from the four they are dealt and three from the flop.
The big difference between the two games is the winning hands in Omaha have a tendency
toward sets, straights, flushes and full houses. A pair of Aces in Holdem is a good hand and
wins many pots. A pair rarely wins in Omaha. Even two pair are suspect in the game.

An experienced Omaha player has the best of it over a player trying to convert to Omaha from
Holdem. The nuances are not seen by the Holdem player for several games and the Holdem
player will make decisions on their hand based on the hands value in Holdem and not in
Omaha. This can be very expensive. Gambling on flops is done more readily in Omaha as
more hands can be made playing nine cards instead of seven. In Omaha a flop that has
three cards to a straight or three cards to a flush better be given ample respect as there is
likely to be a player drawing for one of these hands. A pair in the flop and can easily be a set
or even part of a full house. The point to be stressed here is these hands are all more
common in Omaha than in Holdem.

It takes a Holdem player a while to adjust their thinking to bigger hands based on the final flop
makeup of the five cards. Until this is automatic the player not doing this is going to make
some very bad final calls. Experience is the key to becoming a good Omaha player that
automatically figures for the bigger hands. This way of thinking is foreign to the average
Holdem player.

The US player likes poker and so does the UK player. The UK players are crazy for bingo
and the US players seem to be able to take it or leave it. Part of the problem here is that the
UK bingo sites are banning US players so that kills playing on the best bingo sites online.
The same is true for the great poker sites that the UK has. In poker the UK players play
Holdem and Omaha Hi and the US player seems to stick most of the time with Holdem and a
little of Omaha Hi Low. Roulette is more popular in the UK and Europe than it seems to be in
the US. In the US the slots are extremely popular and the same is true in the UK.. The basic
reason for slot popularity is that there is no learning curve and the slots depend on luck pure
and simple, unlike Poker or Blackjack. Keno had its players in both countries, but in either
case it is a terrible bet but so is the lottery that is run each week in the different states in the
US and the big lottery games that are part of the UK life. We speak a common language or
so we are told, but in gaming both countries have their distinct preferences. But the end
result on the Internet there is a game for a player from either country. No matter what it is still
the fun and excitement of betting and winning or betting and hoping to win.

People have gambled since there were cave men and later Indians. It seems to be part of our
makeup as human beings. For those that have an addiction problem it is a deathly spiral to
self destruction. But the entire group that gambles are not addicted and do risk a small
amount of money in responsible ways. Gambling is exciting and fun to do for most gamblers
that are not risking the family finances. Players that are hooked and have no control are just
like many other addicted people in they cannot control their urges and have no self restraint.

Placing the entire gaming industry and the people that enjoy it at odds with the government
and churches is over reach by those that do not like gaming or its possible bad results. The
question is why are their ideas any better than those that enjoy gaming and do it well within
their means. There are all types of addictions in the world, but a small percentage of people
in that category is not reason to take away something that others like and do not do in a way
that is injurious to themselves or their families. It is a moral question with some and a smoke
screen for some politicians like those that spout out platitudes against gaming and then get
big contributions from Indian Casinos or the horse racing industry. Nothing like a hypocrite..

Church groups that are against gaming have their agenda and that is fine except when it
takes away a privilege that others like. Many of gamblers advocates do not believe the these
people have the right to interfere with the ideas of those that disagree with them. It happened
with booze during prohibition and history shows how well that worked out. People are going
to gamble whether these groups like it or not, so the government should make it fair and
eliminate any cheating by those that present gaming in a live situation or online. It is not
correct that a small percentage of the total number of people that live in a country can get
their way by buying a few politicians to the detriment of others that disagree with them. The
bill that congress passed in 2006 against using credit cards to fund an online account has not
been effective, but made it impossible for US players to play on some or the best casinos in
the world as many in the UK and other countries ban US players. The congressman that
pushed this bill was actually more interested in protecting the Indian Casinos and the Horse
Racing industry than protecting Americans from themselves. The proof is easy to find, look at
who he gets his biggest campaign contributions from. The same two groups. Not only that
this bill was added in the middle of the night to a transportation bill that had nothing to do with
gaming. The blatant hypocrisy of this action is a reminder that gamblers have to be vigilant
all of the time.

This is the easiest task there is for any online bingo player that can play any of the UK bingo
sites. There are more of these great sites than any other gaming group that is online. Bingo
is a passion in the UK and the sites that are based there are great sites with stringent rules to
live by from those that control the sites and their licensing. It is ridiculous that USA players
are not able to play there due to an unworkable law in the US. Good bingo sites will have
many games and a range of prizes to play for. Sites will gain players via the bonuses they
offer, free games, great games and prizes. Bingo is played by a group of people that are avid
players to the degree that some could be called fanatics. Another thing about bingo players is
the demographics has changed dramatically since the online sites have appeared on the
Internet. The average age of online players is between 35 and 45 and not 60 with gray hair.
The sex of the players is split almost fifty fifty and not skewed toward older women. Bingo
players love the pre-buy feature that allows players to play a game and not even be online.

Players have many reasons to play on the sites that are listed as these sites offer many
games with a range of prizes. Many other reasons are available and all a prospective player
needs to do is visit the sites and look around. There are other reasons to play on these UK
sites as these are strictly regulated and the newer ones are coming out with more favorable
rules about bonuses and jackpot payoffs and how much of a big win can be sent home.

The problem that players meet when on one of these better sites and is which games to play
even with pre-buy available. Tournament bingo is a very fun way to play and players seem to
love these competitive games.
